Project Platypus Camp

We have 4 schools (Kangaroo Valley, Berry, Cambewarra and Terara) coming together on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th December for Project Platypus where students will work with the Illawarra Environmental Education Centre and University of NSW with scientist Gilad Bino to study platypus.
Over the two days, students are immersed in scientific investigations relating to local platypus habitat needs and potential threats. This includes close encounters during the evening as they observe UNSW researchersmeasure, assess and microchip caught platypus before releasing them backinto the river.
We would like to thank the KVPS P&C for contributingfunds to make this event go ahead along with sponsorhsip from Gum Tree Foundation, Winderong Farm, Shark Island, Valley Voice and a generous grandparent!
Project Platypus is open to interested students in Years 5 and6.
